Senior Legal Manager

Role & Responsibilities

1. Corporate Commercial & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including dealership, supply chain, and land lease agreements.
• Ensure corporate compliance and maintain relationships with DBD, BOI, OCPB, PDPC, Customs Department, and other relevant authorities.
• Advise management, business units, group companies, and stakeholders on automotive, consumer protection, competition, product liability, advertising, employment, data protection, import/export, customs, tax, and other regulatory matters.
• Obtain, monitor, and maintain required business licenses and government registrations, including Foreign Business and NBTC licenses.
• Draft and review contracts, powers of attorney, official correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Monitor changes in Thai laws and regulations affecting the automotive industry and coordinate with relevant authorities as required.
• Promote legal and regulatory compliance through employee training, internal policies, and collaboration with business units and stakeholders.
• Manage corporate secretarial matters, including shareholders’ and board meetings and related registrations.
• Handle external affairs, including regulatory updates, business impact assessments, and liaison with external stakeholders to support business objectives with a compliance mindset.
• Maintain legal administration, including contract and license databases, and prepare reports or special assignments for management and RHQ/HQ teams.

2. Dispute Resolution & Risk Management

• Coordinate with external counsel and monitor disputes and litigation involving the company and group companies, including mediation.
• Review litigation strategies, pleadings, evidence, settlement proposals, and legal opinions.
• Represent the company in consumer, commercial, labor, and regulatory disputes.
• Develop legal risk mitigation strategies to prevent recurring disputes.

3. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and manage the Legal Section and supervise legal and compliance team members.
• Review and approve legal work prepared by team members.
• Coach and develop junior and mid-level legal personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B./LL.M.).
• Valid Thai Lawyer License required; Barrister-at-Law is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate, consumer protection, and/or product liability law, preferably in-house; automotive/manufacturing and M&A experience is an advantage.
• Experience managing external counsel, cross-functional transaction teams, and complex commercial agreement negotiations.
• Experience working with senior/executive-level management.
• Strong knowledge of Thai corporate and commercial law, contract drafting, legal risk assessment, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent business-level spoken and written English; Korean is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and work effectively under pressure.
• Automotive industry experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
