The Opportunity

The Parts Operations Assistant Manager manages the operational relationship between GMAu, HMCA and Mobis Parts Australia (MPAU), ensuring optimal supply performance, inventory availability, and logistics efficiency. The role is responsible for purchasing, predictive sales forecasting, and distribution of Hyundai and Genesis-owned inventory for Port Installed Options (PIO), using advanced analytics, statistical forecasting, and machine-learning techniques (e.g. Python, SQL, time-series models).

It supports new model launches and network readiness through demand modelling, scenario analysis, and enhanced reporting via business intelligence platforms (e.g. Power BI). The role also ensures effective planning, supply, and distribution of Genuine Parts and Accessories, leveraging data-driven insights to identify commercial opportunities, improve dealer performance, and enhance the HMCA and GMAu ownership experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead operational planning, purchasing, and distribution for parts and accessories, integrating predictive sales forecasting and demand modelling.
  • Develop and maintain data-driven forecasts using statistical and machine-learning techniques (e.g. time-series models), leveraging tools such as Python and SQL.
  • Support PLIC (new model launch meetings) by providing launch demand forecasts, scenario analysis, and parts readiness planning.
  • Assist with business planning, budget forecasting, and target setting using historical sales data, vehicle parc trends, and promotional impacts.
  • Monitor stock holding across logistics partners, ensuring all sites have required owned stock to enable vehicle builds aligned with national distribution strategies
  • Assist the service network with supply requests, Vehicle Off Road (VOR) contingency planning, and support.
  • Monitor and validate data interfaces between vehicle sales systems, parts systems, and external platforms to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support the research, development, and commercialisation of Genuine Accessories through market demand analysis and financial modelling.
  • Identify and evaluate new accessory opportunities, preparing data-backed business cases for approval.
  • Manage production planning, stock allocation, lifecycle forecasting, and phase-out activities using demand and inventory analytics.
  • Design, enhance, and automate performance dashboards and reports using Power BI and internal data platforms.
  • Translate complex data into clear insights to improve parts availability, lead times, and customer experience.
  • Provide regular, insight-driven updates and recommendations to senior management on performance, risks, and growth opportunities.

About you

  • Diploma or equivalent in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience in automotive parts operations, aftersales, or supply chain (preferred).
  • Experience in planning and forecasting.
  • Analytical capability (Power BI, Microsoft Azure, Databricks or similar preferred).
