The Opportunity
As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for resolving complex technical challenges and escalate any concerns as required. This role delivers high quality technical advice and applies repair methods in strict accordance with HMCA’s approved procedures, supporting HMCA and GMAu brands across both passengers and commercial vehicles.
- Provide support to dealer technicians and internal stakeholders for HMCA and GMAu technical issues via written and verbal communication, including conducting on-site visits where required to support troubleshooting and resolution.
- Assist internal stakeholders (Customer Care, Marketing, Sales, regional teams, and externals) in resolving customer and product issues in a timely manner.
- Respond to GSW (Global Service Way) and Technical Hotline enquiries, including escalation to GSSC where required.
- Compile case studies following the successful resolution of complex field diagnoses and submit technician guidance via GSW.
- Attend weekly GSSC meetings led by the HMC Asia Pacific Quality Team and share relevant local case studies.
- Evaluate test parts supplied by HMC to support ongoing investigations and determine root cause of failure.
- Conduct onsite product evaluations and recommend appropriate repair methods to dealers.
- Attend and facilitate Foreman meetings within the allocated region.
- Support new model introductions and drive programs.
- Provide technical support to Engineering Development (Accessories and Fleet).
- Be willing to travel nationally and internationally.
About you
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology required.
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Automotive Electrical Technology – highly desired.
- Minimum 2 years of related job experience.
- Experience in vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities preferably with an OEM.
- Experience in root cause analysis, investigation and preparation of technical reports.
